Presence-aware. An omitted field is left alone; an explicit null clears a nullable column.
The nullable columns are kind, address, latitude, longitude and parent_id. The rest are NOT NULL, so an explicit null there is a client mistake and is refused with a 422 rather than reaching the database as a constraint violation.
